Ported stealth box.

     Just a quick post about the stealth box I constructed for my pickup. The pickup is a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71, but the design should fit in many different models. I know it also fits in a 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD. Just check out the first picture for all of the details.

2004 Sierra quad light mod (incomplete)

     They have instructions for pre '03 models and '03+. They are both fairly simple and work great. I've done this on a '00 1/2 Silverado and a '04 3/4 ton Sierra. 

Dashboard LED Swap (incomplete)

I have several lights burned out in my dash, so I've decided to swap them out with LEDs. I don't really have time for a full write up, but here are some teaser pictures.

     Earlier, I showed you how to remove the buzzer/indicator from your late '99 to 2002 General Motors fullsize pickup or SUV. This post will show you how to replace it with a LED.

     My first step was to remove the housing of the BCM with it still plugged in. This allowed me to test the voltage supplied to the buzzer. This variable needs to be known in order to choose a resistor, if needed. In our case, one is needed. The voltage powering the buzzer is between 9 and 12 volts. That is more than enough to ruin a LED.

     When I'm searching for "How-To's" and guides, I want just that. You have your reasons for the mods you do, and I have mine. This short write-up will explain how to remove the annoying buzzer from Chevrolet Silverados or GMC Sierras from 1999 (late) to 2002. This may work on newer vehicles or even other models, but I've not had experience with others to this date.
